“Mrs … was seen late last year with a problem in the left knee for which she had arthroscopy management with quite good results that have pleased her immensely. She has, therefore, come to me requesting a referral to have the same kind of management for the right knee” – patient’s GP.

“This lady is now 5 weeks post right knee replacement which has been very successful. She is keen to get back onto the waiting list to have the left knee done as she is struggling with continuing pain” – physio report.

“Patient had known bilateral severe osteoarthritis of both hips and has had an excellent response to left hip replacement. She would now like to go ahead with the right hip replacement please. I would be grateful if you could see this pleasant lady who had a very successful total hip replacement at the Nuffield Hospital under the care of Mr Singhania…She would be very happy if she could repeat the procedure with the same consultant” – patient’s GP.

“Dear Mr Singhania, Thank you for seeing this 62 year old with bilateral osteoarthritis to both knees. She was seen last year for a left total knee replacement – which has been very successful. She continues to struggle with her right knee, which has become worse recently and as such she would like to be considered for another knee replacement” – patient’s GP.

Mrs … had some hamstring pain caused by sciatic irritation in August which settled with nerve glides. Mrs… main goals were to be able to train and run. Both were achieved. “Mr… has made a great recovery following his hip joint replacement, and he is delighted with the result. He has good, pain free range of movement, and he is walking many miles each day, and cycling regularly. I am discharging him from physiotherapy today” – at 3 months.

“Dear Mr Singhania, Mrs … has a review appointment with you in January. She is very pleased indeed with her right knee replacement operation, carried out a year ago. When she comes to see you in January, she would like to talk, I think, about having a new knee on the left, as her left knee is now causing considerable pain and limiting her. He was able to achieve 0-130 degrees of active knee movement with no concerns. He has now been discharged from physiotherapy” – after knee arthroscopy.

She is walking well with no aids and reported that yesterday she walked 9 holes of a local golf course, estimating that she did 10,000 steps yesterday. She is confidently planning a trip to the National Portrait Gallery in London in the next week. She is highly motivated and will continue with her home exercise programme to continue strengthening her abductors. She has resumed her regular Pilates class. I am discharging her from physiotherapy”

“Mrs… has made a wonderful recovery following her second knee joint replacement. Today she had 110 degrees of right knee flexion and 10 degrees of extension. She is walking well with no aids and has resumed Ballroom Dancing 2 evenings/week. She was delighted to report that she recently danced at her Grand-daughters’ wedding. She is highly motivated and will continue with her home exercise programme to continue strengthening her quads and to maintain, and possibly increase range of movement in the right knee. I am discharging her from physiotherapy” – at 2 months.

“Having now had both hips replaced … has resumed looking after grandchildren and is planning to return to Pilates soon” – physio report.

“Mrs… has made a good recovery following her right knee joint replacement. Today, she had full extension and 120 degrees of flexion. She will continue to gradually increase her activity tolerance and fitness under her own steam, and I am now discharging her from physiotherapy” – at 2 months.

“Mrs… has completed physiotherapy under my care here at Progress, and has made a significant improvement throughout. She has been able to achieve all of her pre-treatment goals and has even made the decision to join a gym to maintain her newfound fitness. As a result of this, I have now discharged her from my care” – after hip replacement.

“Mrs… has completed a post-operative course of physiotherapy with me here at Progress following her right total knee replacement, and has made a significant recovery. She has achieved all of her rehabilitation goals, including being able to cycle again pain free for upwards of five miles” – physio report.

“Mr… completed physiotherapy here at Progress following his hip replacement. He has since returned to pilates and all of his gardening tasks with no concerns, and has reported that there is nothing he feels he cannot do. He has progressed significantly and I have every confidence that he will be able to continue self-management at home and he is therefore discharged” – at 3 months.

“Mrs… has made a wonderful recovery following her right knee joint replacement. When I last saw her 6 weeks post op she had 100 degrees of knee flexion and full extension. There was minimal swelling and she was walking with no aides and no limp. She could easily do a straight leg raise, and could walk up and down stairs with a reciprocal gait. She is highly motivated and will continue with her home exercise programme to continue strengthening her quads and to maintain, and possibly increase range of movement in the right knee” – physio report.

“Mr… has completed physiotherapy with me since his hip replacement in December. He has progressed significantly and has achieved all of his goals set out at the start of his rehabilitation – including being able to walk 2 miles independently and also to return to work pain free. There is nothing he is unable to do on a day-to-day basis and he has no complaints of pain. I have every confidence that he will he able to continue to progress with his own exercise program, and have since discharged him”

“Mr… has completed physiotherapy under my care, and has progressed significantly in this time. Since his knee replacement in November, he has now returned to a high level of activity and is walking an average of 2.5 miles daily. He has also achieved his other rehabilitation goal of weekly dance classes with his partner. He is very pleased with his progress, as am I. I have now discharged him from physiotherapy”

“Mrs… has had sessions with myself since her operation in October, and has seen substantial improvements in her physical activity levels and her functional ability. She has returned to all her baseline activities, including swimming and pilates, and is able to complete all of these pain free. She has made excellent progress with physiotherapy and I expect this to continue into the future” – after hip replacement.

“… has done extremely well following the hip replacement. She is back to her normal functional activities and is pain free – She has been walking 2-3 miles regularly with no pain or discomfort. I have discharged her from my care with a home exercise program” – physio report at 4 months.

He is now walking around the house with no aids, and is using one crutch in the right hand, to support his LEFT knee (which is awaiting replacement) when outside, depending on the terrain” – physio report at 6 weeks.

His active knee range of movement at discharge was 0 to 115 flexion – I have now discharged … with a home exercise program of mobility and strength training exercises” – physio report after knee replacement.

He has returned to long walking on holidays and swimming. He is happy to continue with his exercises for the long term independently now” – physio report.
